The truth about being "always on"
Sep 02, 2025
This last stretch of summer, I made a conscious effort to unplug. To set my phone down, be present, and stat connected with the people who matter most to me.
Being constantly plugged in…whether it’s through work, social media, or even just the pressure to respond quickly, fuels anxiety and pulls us away from the moments that truly matter. It not only robs us of peace but also sets the wrong example for our kids, who are watching how we balance screens with presence.
This is an area I need to keep working on. My work is naturally tied to being online: meeting with clients across the country in different time zones, creating content for social media, staying accessible for my community. And often, the guilt pulls both ways, feeling like I’m not fully present for my kids, but also feeling like I need to post or engage every day.
But the reality is that my family needs me most in those everyday moments that matter…dinners, weekends, special times together. And my clients and community don’t expect me to be online every day. What they value is that I show up with a clear mind, a grounded presence, and content that truly helps. And I can only do that when I give myself permission to unplug.
This is a reminder for all of us: unplugging isn’t selfish. It’s an act of self-care that allows us to show up better for the people we love and for the work that matters most.
And if you’re ready to show up better for yourself too, The Enso Kitchen System is my evidence-based program to help you:
-
Boost energy
-
Balance hormones
-
Lower inflammation
-
Lose weight naturally
With summer behind us, kids back in school, and just a few months left until the new year, it’s the perfect time to refocus on your goals.
I also have one spot opening soon for personalized 1:1 coaching. If you’ve been waiting for the right time, this might be it. Just hit reply and send me the word “sustainable” and I’ll share the details with you.
Here’s to unplugging, reconnecting, and showing up as our best selves, together.
Warmly,
Dr. Solmaz
